Simple and intuitive, ScanTrainer speeds up the skills learning process.

Each module is broken down into easy-to-follow tutorials, assignments and tasks, designed to teach the trainee in an ‘immersive’ interactive learning experience, where they are given the freedom to learn by trial and error.

Using a replica ultrasound probe attached to a force-feedback (haptic) device, together with ultrasound images that have been generated during real-time scanning, ScanTrainer replicates the real-time physical feedback of probe manipulation and contact with a patient, allowing trainees to develop the necessary manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.   

At the end of each assignment the trainee's performance is assessed against a Gold Standard and detailed feedback is provided on each task within the Learning Management System (LMS). Trainees can review their performance, then either retake the assignment if unsuccessful, or progress to the next assignment.

At all times the tutor can review the trainee’s reports on the LMS and can monitor their progress on a regular basis.

This process dramatically speeds up skills acquisition prior to contact with patients.
