Learning skills

In addition to the existing Core Skills modules, new educationally-driven advanced training modules and case studies were launched in Autumn 2011, providing users with a range of training and learning modules for both trainees and experienced practitioners.

Training modules are categorised as follows:

Core Skills Modules: teaching the core obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound skills.
 
Advanced Skills Modules: teaching a range of advanced pathology-related skills.
 
Differential Diagnosis Case Studies: multi-pathology scans to develop diagnostic skills, with relevant feedback.
 
Scan Library: single pathology scans to develop image interpretation skills, with relevant feedback.

Recent additions to the training modules include:

Advanced Skills Module – Fibroid. Teaches how to assess and measure an intramural fibroid.
 
Advanced Skills Modules – Ovarian Cyst. Teaches how to assess and measure a simple ovarian cyst.
 
Differential Diagnosis Case Study – Enlarged Uterus. A multi-pathology case of a patient  presenting with an enlarged uterus, with multiple-choice questions designed to test and develop the user’s diagnostic skills.
 
Differential Diagnosis Case Study – Pelvic Pain. A multi-pathology case of a patient  presenting with pelvic pain, with multiple-choice questions designed to test and develop the user’s diagnostic skills.
 
Scan Library Cases. Single patient scans of an intramural fibroid and a multiloculated cyst designed to develop the user’s image interpretation skills.
